Managing Team: The following are short profiles of members of the Managing Team (Collection’s owners):
Katya Tcherpokova is originally from northwestern Bulgaria; she has lived, studied, and worked in various locations in Bulgaria and abroad. Katya has worked for many years as a nurse, she holds a BS in Chemical Engineering. She has also studied journalism. During 2004 – 2007 she lived in the US (Utah), and since 2007 she has been living in the town of Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
During the years Katya has gained a professional experience in the area of arts in a broad sense. She has been visiting museums and art galleries for years, driven by internal desire. She has been working with embroidery since her childhood. In 2007 she joined Rositza Chukanova group for National Embroidery and decoration, part of Community Center “Aleko Konstantinov”, town of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. In the Group they make (work to restore) traditional Bulgarian embroidery (some of them going back 200 years); through the Group Katya has been participating with her own articles with great success in exhibitions in the town of Plovdiv, throughout the country, and abroad. Along with her work on restoring Bulgarian embroidery, Katya started to search out embroidery patterns, in order to enlarge the fund of the Group; along that search, she started to collect authentic ethnic costumes. In addition, Katya has studied books about ethnic minority groups in Bulgaria and Islamic art, written by renowned Bulgarian scientists. She has also studied many books about Bulgarian traditional costumes.

Marious Tcherpokov is originally from the town of Plovdiv, central Bulgaria; he has an extensive experience among different cultures: has lived, studied, and worked for several years in Bulgaria, USA, Germany, and Libya. Marious holds several professional qualifications from Brigham Young University, USA -- (i) MBA (Supply Chain & Marketing), US, 2006; BS in Business Management (International Finance), US, 1995. He is also a recipient of BYU’s Marriott School Global Management Graduate Certificate; he holds a Business Valuation License.
Professionally, Marious has valuable skills and qualifications in the area of business administration, including financial and investment analysis, analysis and control and improvement of business processes, marketing, supply chain, etc. Marious has nine years of experience with BNP Paribas in Bulgaria, a subsidiary of a top-ten International Bank where he headed the Internal Audit Unit and over four years experience in Operational Risk management. He speaks several foreign languages: English (fluent), Russian (proficient), German (conversational).
